The history...

In 1926 on the occasion of the collection of the carob, a group of young people traveled to the town of Alcala de Xivert, at the end of the day they met at the railway station, and in the same courtyard of the station they played the first game known in the history of Salsadella. It was in May 1932, when several young people from La Salzadella got together to found a soccer team, dressed in their best clothes, they went in the car of "Tio Laurentino" to San Mateo to rent a "terrace" in the game of San Mateo which was on the outskirts of the town, the field cost 65 pesetas a year and "Tio Laurentino" left the money so that the RACING CLUB SALSADELLA was founded. Once the field was rented and as they did not have T-shirts, Federico, a man who He came to La Salzadella, a gift to these young shirts to be able to play, these were blue and white, since Federico was a member of RCD Espanyol. At that time the shirts did not have the numbers on the inside of the neck to know who each shirt belonged to. The headquarters of the "Peña" was built in the "cafe el Centro" (although it has since changed location). There the first meeting was constituted, and it was there that the players dressed before the game and showered afterwards. The first monetary collections were made through “donations”. Later, each member paid a penny a month. The first to perform the functions of “treasurer” was Estanislao, and since he was a carpenter he was commissioned to make a box to be able to keep the money, the day the club met, Estanislao arrived with a miniature coffin as a safe, and on the cross-shaped lid you could read Racing Club Salsadella. When the members of the peña saw the box they were astonished and Uncle Laurentino said “Estanislao, what have you done? In all the illusion of the world we have created a football club, we have a brand new team finished, and ... do you want to bury it? "Apart from the players, at that time and for many years the" Tía Enriqueta ”from“ lemon tree left ”. This woman, daughter of the owners of "Café el Centro" was very involved in Racing since its inception. For many years, in the middle of the game he carried lemonades in a basket (hence the "left lemon bowl") for the players and the referee.

1940s

After five years of soccer, the Civil War caused this sport to be put aside until 1941. In this year, the Les Viles Municipal Field , located in the game of the same name, was inaugurated . Towards the year 1947 three young people from the town (Fernando Mestre, Gerardo Vallés and Enrique Cervera) went to the "Guideta" house to rent a "terrace" closer to the town, it had a steep incline and a pole in the middle of the field. At this time, men, whether they were adults or children, would go after working to the soccer field and there they would play every afternoon until dinner time. Years later, this field was leveled to "Jornal de Vila" to make it what we now know as the Les Viles Municipal Field. At that time the rivalry between towns was already present, especially with the Sant Mateu Sports Union. Older people say that on one occasion those from the San Mateu Sports Union came to play La Salzadella, one of the fans who came on a motorcycle carried a cardboard box in the package holder, while the children of the town were disputed. They opened the box and inside they found a wreath of the dead, which they wanted to hang on the goal if they won the game, in a mockery plan because they wanted to "bury us." This was not possible because Racing Club Salsadella won.

Such was the rivalry between these peoples that for some years when

UD Sant Mateu arrived "they touched the dead." Around 1948, the

Valencian Football Federation forced the teams

to have two kits of different colors, the 2nd Racing kit

Club Salsadella was red and white, the joy of this new kit

It lasted a short time, since they washed it with water and salt so that it did not

They spoiled the colors and what happened was that the white was dyed red.

1950s

Towards the year 1951 a total of 35 games were played, of which 27 were won, and 152 goals were scored and 51 conceded. The top scorer was Fernando Mestre with 43 goals.

In 1954, with Tomas Garcia Adell as President, the "education and rest" championship began.

The first game was against UD Sant Mateu, Racing Club Salsadella won with a resounding 6 - 0 at Campo Municipal Les Viles.

the 2nd game: CD Benicássim 1- 2 Racing Club Salsadella.

3rd match Vinaròs CF 0 - 2 Racing Club Salsadella.

4th match UD Sant Mateu 0 - 2 Racing Club Salsadella.

5th match Racing Club Salsadella 3 - 0 Vinaròs CF.

6th match Racing Club Salsadella 2 - 1 CD Benicássim.

With these results, Racing Club Salsadella managed to win the North Group and the final was played against CD Ribesalbes at Campo del Sequiol in Castellón. With a result of 3 - 0, Racing was proclaimed Champion of the "education and rest" championship of the Province of Castellón in 1954/1955.

Once the great triumph was celebrated, the organization that, as in the Province of Castellón had not participated in the championship, would have a league and the team that won would face Racing Club Salsadella. The winner of this league was the Atmella Sports Club, which faced Racing Club Salsadella in the Campo Municipal de Cabanes, Racing managed to rise with victory and reaffirm its title by winning by 4 - 1.

Once the provincial Championship was won, we went on to the Spanish Amateur Championship. We had to face the current Industrial Spain Football Club Barcelona "B", at the Mestalla Stadium, while Industrial Spain arrived by bus and with a coach, masseur ... Racing arrived with 11 - 12 players and boots in the hands. The winner of this match would be Real Betis Balompié's next rival. The result was: Racing Club Salsadella 1 - 6 La España Industrial.

1960s

At the moment we do not have enough information about this

period of time of Racing Club Salsadella.

1970s

In 1970 the land where the Campo Municipal Les Viles is located became the property of the La Salzadella city council.

In 1972 Racing became federated and entered the competition in the 3rd Regional category. The first federated squad was the following.

In the 1973/1974 season we were 3rd Regional champions, but in a General Meeting it was decided not to move up in the category.

It was in the following 1974/1975 season, after being again champions of the 3rd Regional, when, after a General Meeting, it was decided that we would move up in the category.

After the last game played in the 1974/1975 season, the Queen of the Festivities (Mari Carmen Ortí) was called to receive the players with a bouquet of flowers.

In the 1975/1976 season, Restituto Gallego Guasch entered as President.

In the 1976/1977 season we were demoted, but it would be promoted again to the 1977/1978 season.

In these years the Racing Club Salsadella had, in addition to the first team, several children's soccer teams.

Racing continued to play their league matches. At the end of the 1979/1980 season, the First Racing Club Salsadella Trophy was organized, the winner of which was CF Aurore of the Challenge League (Swiss Second Division).

1980s

The 1981/1982 season was a very special season for the club, as the 50th anniversary of Racing Club Salsadella was celebrated. With Joaquín Ripoll as President and Luis Losada as coach, remaining in seventh position in the standings. On August 15, a commemorative party was held and a match was played between Racing Club Salsadella against CD Castellón

In 1982, after the 50th anniversary, Ramos was hired as Racing Coach, while Joaquín Ripoll continued as president. This year, after a bad season the category was lost and we dropped to Regional 3rd. After

Disappointment in the 1983/1984 season contract

S. Guasch as coach. After spectacular results ,

like 9-0; 9-1 etc. we are champions of the category and

We were promoted to 2nd Regional, with Marcel as the top scorer with

(19 goals). The result of the season was 30 games, 22

won,

4 tied and 4 defeats. The 1984/1985 Season was a

season of changes. since although the season started

Guasch as coach, later Adolfo would replace him

in office. This year is not remembered as a spectacular season, but it is because Racing Club Salsadella had its first official tracksuits.

In the 1985/1986 season there were changes in the presidency, Victor Gallego replaced Joaquín Ripoll. Highlight this season a spectacular comeback against ACD Peñíscola, we lost 4-0 and we managed to tie thanks to the goals of Gonzalo, Paco, Chosi and Tene, thus ending the match 4-4.

In the 1986/1987 season, Guasch returned as coach, it was a bad season, very irregular. Just highlight a 10-0 against CF Benlloch in favor of Racing. Finally the category could be saved.

The 1987/1988 season went smoothly with Herrera as coach, highlighting the victory on the field of the leader by 2-3 against CF Villafames. Paco Sales was the top scorer with (15 goals).

In the 1988/1989 season, Pascual Soriano entered as president, Conrado Valles as first coach and Enrique Pesudo as second coach. Highlight a Racing Club Salsadella 7-1 CF Benlloch and a Racing Club Salsadella 6-0 CF Alcalá de Xivert.

In the 1989/1990 season, after a very close season he remained in 3rd position, highlighting Segio Pruñonosa "El Bicho", who had just played abroad, was the top scorer with (31 goals).

1990s

In the 1990/1991 season with Ferran Mestre as coach,

managed to have a good season since Racing got

be among the top 3 in the leaderboard. In the season

1991/1992 Ferran Mestre was still coach, it was a spectacular year

for Racing, we were first in the classification table of the

2nd Regional category with 74 points and we were promoted to 1st Regional

for the first time in the club's history. The top scorer was

Sergio Pruñonosa “El Bicho” with 23 goals, Jorge Roda was the second least thrashed goalkeeper in the league, Jose Mª Guasch was the player who failed the least training sessions and Fabian Querol was the player who played the most minutes. We won 23 games, drew 5 and lost 4.
Racig started the 1992/1993 season with these players César Garcia, Jorge Roda, Gonzalo Garcia, Esteban Querol, Fracis Bonifas, Sergio Proñonosa “El Bicho”, Alex Mestre, Chosi, Jose Mª Guasch, Fabian Querol, Pablo Albalat, Loren Montull , Vinu, Damian, César Vilaplana, Marcos Cifre, Enrique Benlliure, Óscar Montull, Roberto and Manolo Mestre.
This season was M. Arias as coach of Racing. In the last game of the season we beat Athletic Castellón. The players went to dinner since we had saved the category with the 4 remaining in the queue but after 3 or 4 days due to a structure by which the Club Deportivo Benicarlo, the Club Deportivo Benicassim and the Racing Club Salsadella were affected, we went down 2nd Regional.
In the 1993/1994 season, Pascual Soriano is replaced by Jorge Moliner as club president. In the absence of a day in the field of the Unión Deportiva atzeneta, two of our players, Miquel and César, went to eat at the “Pelejaneta” before the game, when they went to the match their motorcycle ran out of gasoline and they could not play the match. We lost the game and were 3rd in the 2nd Regional Classification; We were the team with the fewest goals in the league.
Season 1994/1995 This season with Manolo Mestre as coach we were in 4th place in the qualifying table, we were the team that got the most points in the 2nd round of the league.
It should be noted the attempt of 11 young people from the town to found the 1st women's soccer team, although we had to wait a few years for this project to be carried out with the formation of the Racing Club Salsadella Fútbol Sala Femenino.
In the 1995/1996 season, Manolo Mestre continued as coach. This was a very special season and very important for the history of our club, since after years of waiting Racing inaugurated the pitch at Campo Municipal Les Viles. The privileged person to inaugurate the goal of Les Viles as a visiting goalkeeper was Jorge Roig, in a friendly against the Tirig Football Club.
This season was not bad for Racing since we were in 4th position in the league table of the 2nd Regional League . It is worth highlighting the performance of Fabian Querol, who played every minute (1440) in all Racing matches in the league.
1996/1997 season. Although it is not well known when the "pique" began from this year season up season down, and until now the players after each game and in the privacy of the locker room were holding a "Freaks Underpants" contest, what is not known is who has won the contest so far.
In the 1997/1998 season, Paco Sales replaced Jorge Moliner as club president and Juanmi Subirats replaced Jorge Campos as coach. We were in 6th place in the standings, with Cristobal Segarra "Tito" with 13 goals the team's top scorer.

In the 1997/1998 season, Paco Sales replaced Jorge Moliner as club president and Juanmi Subirats replaced Jorge Campos as coach. We were in 6th place in the standings, with Cristobal Segarra "Tito" with 13 goals the team's top scorer.

In the 1998/1999 Season with Sanahúja as coach, we had 3 days to go 2nd in the table, due to the results we could only finish in 5th place in the classification table. Cristobal Segarra "Tito" was one more year top scorer with 27 goals.

In the 1999/2000 Season, things continued the same way, with Sanahúja as coach we were in the middle of the qualifying table, Cristobal Segarra "Tito" was Racing's top scorer for the third consecutive year.

2000s

The 2000/2001 Season was a year of changes at Racing Club Salsadella, we started the season with Sanahúja as coach, but as of November Javier Abargues took over the team, we were in 9th place in the classification table, Esteban querol He was the top scorer for Racing this season.

This year in a match against Vilanova, the field of the same was flooded on one of its sides, which did not prevent the match from being played, despite the fact that the touchline was not visible, so the referee whistled for blinds throughout the game.

The 2001/2002 Season with Manolo Garcia as coach was a regular season, we stayed in the category as David as the top scorer.

In the 2002/2003 Season, Jose Manuel Segarra entered as president, replacing Paco Sales, we were in 6th place in the qualifying table, Cristobal Segarra "Tito" returned to the club after 2 seasons away, it was to return and recover the title of "top scorer" of the team, with 26 goals.

It was this year when Racing Club Salsadella Fútbol was born

Sala Femenino, at the initiative of two young people from the town

The girls were Araceli Valles and Neus Segarra.

The 2003/2004 Season was a season not to forget,

with Ferran Mestre again as coach and with the help of

the Racing Club Salsadella fans were promoted to 1st Regional

for the 2nd time in the club's history, with Cristobal Segarra "Tito"

top scorer with 29 goals.

Apart from the joy of the upgrade, there was also that of

the founding of Racing Club Salsadella Veteranos, for

initiative of former Racing players.

The 2004/2005 season was also a great season for the fans since, with the excitement of playing first class and with the fans that Salsadella has had all our lives for football, every time we were there, we accompanied the team between 60 and 100 people and when we played at home the fans increased. For this reason, for the support we gave the team in each game and for the good behavior of the fans, we were awarded the prize for the best fans in the 1st Regional. Despite this, with Chimo Calaixell as coach we were in 8th place, with Cristobal Segarra “Tito” being the top scorer with 12 goals.

The 2005/2006 season will not be forgotten by Racing fans either since, despite the fact that Manolo Mestre achieved 7th place in the qualifying table, with Ximo Albalat as the top scorer, it was tainted by the Fatima case ". Due to the unsportsmanlike behavior of some of the members of this team, the rest of the teams in the category refused to play until the federation took no action, so the season had to be suspended for a month and a half, until, seeing the refusal of the federation to take any action, the clubs decided to resume the calendar, ending it without any other incident. The first game after the "stoppage" against Fatima, was played by Racing at "Sant Blai" parties at the Benlloch's field, since Fátima had the field closed due to an attack on the CD Cati coach. We won this match l-2

The start of the 2006/2007 season was somewhat unusual. In mid-August the players called a general meeting due to the lack of a board of directors and a coach, asking the fans to form a management board among a few for that year. Helped by the players they looked for Alejandro Franco as President and Juanmi Subirats as coach, hoping together to help the team in whatever was necessary. But despite this we managed to finish in 5th place in the table, with Ximo Albalat as the top scorer, thus improving by 2 places the result of the previous season.
